Healing Together: A Lullaby Project Celebration Concert and Art Show
Umbrella’s Healing Together Project, Northwoods Music Collaborative, and Writers for Recovery present Healing Together: A Lullaby Project Celebration Concert and Art Show, a program of beautiful and heartwarming songs and artwork created by parents, caretakers, children, families, survivors and partners through the Healing Together Project. This concert and art show marks the culmination of Lullaby Project workshops and numerous family and community art activities held over several years together with project partners Umbrella (Northeast Kingdom), Voices Against Violence (St Albans), the Vermont Network, and DIVAS (an advocacy program of The Network within the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility).
The Concert
Healing Together: A Lullaby Project Celebration Concert showcases new lullabies created in our community by parents and caregivers from supervised visitation and advocacy programs and from within Chittenden County Regional Correctional Facility. The concert will be performed by a band of esteemed musicians including: Evan Premo (double bass, guitar, vocals), Marianne Donahue Perchlik (guitar, Celtic harp, vocals), Colin McCaffrey (guitar, fiddle, vocals), Michelle Rodriguez (vocals), and Ira Friedman (piano).
The Art Show
The community is invited to come early on the 19th and stay after the concert to visit TOGETHER! a visual and interactive art show featuring creations by survivors, families, advocates, and community. Guests are invited to move through the exhibit to see what we’ve been up to as well as create pieces to add to our collective vision of a world where together, everyone thrives! Together! opens September 19th and runs through October 4th.
